Waianae Journey Through Our Healthcare Home

The Waianae Journey is an iPhone app (and soon to be iPad as well!) that includes walking trail information in an interactive format that allows users to retrieve information about the petroglyphs and other landmarks they see as they walk along the health center trails.

The story pages provide video and other historical information and are linked throughout the map.

Kauila Clark, the current board president of the National Association of Community Health Centers, narrates the landmarks and stories of this journey.

The welcome video message features Agnes Kalanihookaha Cope ("Aunty Aggie"), founder of the Waianae Coast Cultural Arts Society (WCCAS), past chair of the state wide Native Hawaiian Health Care System, and recently honored by Governor Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii who declared April 8, 2011 as “Agnes Kalanihookaha Cope Day in Hawaii."
